PRESENTED BY RACHEL A. WEBBER, Elders and Persons with Disabilities, Abuse Unit Coordinator, Northwestern District Attorney’s Office

Did you know that 1 in 10 elders will fall victim to some form of abuse without even knowing it? With approximately 10,000 people turning age 65 every day across the globe, it’s important to protect yourself and your elder loved ones.

Financial exploitation is the number one crime against elders that is investigated and prosecuted by the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office. Sadly, many elder victims of abuse may not recognize it as such. Guest speaker Rachel A. Webber will walk us through:

• Signs of abuse to help an elder loved one who is being victimized by a friend or family member

• Tips and strategies to help protect yourself and others

• Offender characteristics

• What to do when you suspect abuse

• The Adult Protective Service process

Enjoy light refreshments while you have all your questions answered.
