Specialized Memory Care

When memory loss requires a higher level of care, Linda Manor Extended Care offers specialized memory support that promotes a better quality of life. Our skilled nursing center’s Alzheimer’s/dementia program is a Certified Dementia Special Care Unit as designated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

Encouraging More Successful Days

Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias steal part of our loved ones, but who they are and who they have been remains deeply rooted. At Linda Manor Extended Care, we follow the habilitation approach to memory care. Our specialized memory care program team focuses on each of our residents as individuals, respecting their personal histories, preferences, and routines, and joining them within their reality for happier, more successful days.

Compassionate Support for Those With Memory Loss

Our memory care program offers compassionate support with aspects of daily life that can be especially challenging for those living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Our progam is led by a certified dementia practitioner and offers opportunities for engagement and connection seven days a week.

Meals are served restaurant-style with alternative menu options, and our staff learn resident preferences to encourage positive dining experiences. Hands-on activites from early morning into the evening provide opportunities for engagement and connection, with familiar activities such as gardening, cooking, and brain teasers. We have iPods programmed for different musical tastes—such as blues, rock, or classical—to entertain, connect, or enhance mood.
